Elements of a great welcome page

A successful start is the key to participant motivation and engagement. A Welcome page should include several essential elements that help participants feel welcome, understand the goals of the shared journey, and prepare to begin the implementation.

The first page creates the first impression. Ensure it includes these six elements:

  • A Shared Greeting: A warm and inviting message for the whole group (e.g., a video or an image).

  • Introduction to the Big Picture: What is this all about? Explain the goals, topics, and, most importantly, why participating is valuable.

  • Structure and Content: A clear description of the journey’s flow and the different modules. A couple of great options for visualising this are the Journey and the Checkpoint widgets.

  • Schedule: Important dates and any potential live or online meetings.

  • Contact Information: Who can participants contact? Add a People widget for the facilitators or responsible persons.

  • Activation: Provide a low-threshold way to start. For example, an introduction in a chat or a short question (e.g. using a Super Chat, Poll, Pulse, or a Priority widget) right on the landing page.
