Howspace Free does not support the Certificate feature.
This feature allows a workspace admin to issue certificates for participants. A certificate can be issued by:
Users passing an exam
Users being approved based on Progress (see this article)
An admin manually selecting participants on the Users or Progress page and manually issuing one.
Currently it is possible to have one certificate per workspace. Certificate as a feature is disabled by default but it can be enabled by the admins in workspace settings under the features tab.
Creating and personalizing the certificate
Before a certificate can be granted it has to be created by an admin. You can create the template for it in Workspace Manager -> “Certificate”. There are two ways to create one: ready-made template and free form.
Use template
This allows you to create a standard Howspace certificate with pre-defined elements and look. Elements that you can customize include:
Logo. You can add your own logo as an image.
Certificate title.
Course title. If no title is added, the title defaults to workspace name.
Course description (up to five rows of text).
Completion text (e.g. "Awarded to:")
Participant name - by default will have the dynamic element "[TO_USER_DISPLAY_NAME]"
Fixed issue date: you can select a fixed date to be shown as the date of the certificate. If not selected, the date follows the time each user receives the certificate.
Signature:
You can add an image containing the signature, and in separate fields
Signatory name, and
Signatory title
Optionally, you can also add a second signature
Free form
You can also create a certificate from scratch. To do that, you first need to upload an image to be used as the background of the certificate. The image should contain your custom visuals and static elements you want to include. After you have uploaded an image, you can add the following elements to the certificate to customise it:
Course title (Default: workspace name)
Course description (Default: workspace description)
Participant name: a dynamic field that matches the user who receives the certificate
Issue date: a dynamic field that matches the date when the certificate is issued
Progress score
Custom text: a textbox for you to add anything you want
Written name and title of the signatory
Profile fields: you can also choose to add any profile field to the certificate. These are dynamic elements that will match the actual value in the profile of the user who receives the certificate
You also have the option to change the text colour, size, and font.
Issuing a certificate
A certificate can be implemented as a part of the Exam widget and is available in Exam settings that you can access from the "..." menu next to the "Edit page" button. The certificate will granted based on the 'minimum score to pass the exam'. If the minimum score is set to 0% then all who finish the exam will receive a certificate.
In exam settings, you can choose to add a "Show certificate" button in the exam results view and/or at the end of the page where the exam is.
Admins can also issue certificates manually through Workspace Manager on the Users page or the Progress page by selecting one or more users and clicking Certificate -> Issue certificate.
After a certificate has been issued, users can also find it in their profiles:
Sharing the certificate
The certificate can be:
Added to personal LinkedIn profiles by the participants
Saved as a PDF
Copied and shared as a URL
