Updated over 7 months ago

Howspace offers robust security features designed to enhance the safety and integrity of user data and access within its platform. Here’s a simple overview of the security capabilities within Howspace:

Login and Registration

  • Social Login Options: Users can log in using their existing Google, Microsoft, or Apple accounts, streamlining the authentication process while utilizing the security measures of these platforms.

  • Single Sign-On (SSO): Howspace supports SSO, allowing users to access multiple services with one set of login credentials. This feature includes options to enforce SSO for specific email addresses or domains, enhancing control over who accesses the workspace.

  • Automatic User Creation: When users log in via SSO, they are automatically added to the system with predefined roles, eliminating the need for manual input from administrators.

  • Login Restrictions: Administrators can specify which email addresses or user groups are allowed to log in, adding an extra layer of security by controlling access based on company-specific criteria.

  • Anonymous and Passkey Login: Users can log in anonymously using a short URL or QR code, or with passkeys, providing flexibility in user access while maintaining security for less sensitive content.

Registration Controls

  • Registration Page: Allows user registration via a dedicated page.

  • Login Link Validity: Administrators can set the validity of login links to be unlimited or limited to a specific number of uses, and specify the duration for which a login link remains active (from one day to one month).

  • Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Enhances security by requiring a second form of verification. It can be set to always on, only for new devices, or turned off.

  • Login Validation Methods: Includes options to send a PIN code via email or SMS, adding an additional security check to verify user identity.

Security Settings

  • Session Management: Administrators can set session durations, opt to remember sessions after closing the browser, or set sessions to end upon closing the browser.

  • IP Address Restrictions: This feature restricts workspace access to specific IP addresses or allows access from any IP address, helping prevent unauthorized access from unsecured locations.

These security features are part of Howspace's commitment to providing a secure, controlled environment for its users, ensuring that data protection is paramount while maintaining ease of use and flexibility in access and authentication methods.
