Allows customers to connect their existing LMS (learning management system) to Howspace
Support for LTI 1.3
The users in the LMS are then able to register and access Howspace workspaces
For example, an easy way to support social learning with Howspace is by connecting your Moodle with your Howspace
You can enhance participation and engagement in real-time in parallel with LMS
Participants do not need separate login, and course administrator only needs to manage users in one place
1.1 Configuration of Howspace to your Moodle
To set up the connection between your Howspace and Moodle, you need to get the next three steps done:
Learning Tool Interoperability feature activated to your Howspace account
Setup Howspace tool to your Moodle
Enter Platform settings to your Howspace LTI settings
After this configuration is complete, your course administrators can add the Howspace tool to the course so that participants can access the Howspace workspace without a separate login.
1.2 Feature activation
If you are not able to find the Learning Tools Interoperability feature from your Howspace main user dashboard (Settings), contact your CSM or Howspace support to enable it for you.
1.3 Moodle LTI external tool setup
Open your Howspace Main user dashboard
Choose Settings -> Learning Tools Interoperability
Keep this open to proceed with the next steps
Open your Moodle Site administration and
Select tab Plugins
From the opening menu, select:
Activity modules -> External tool -> Manage toolsSelect Configure tool manually
Enter the following values into the Tool settings
*Notice that to enter values to fields 6,7,8 open your Howspace Main user dashboard -> Settings -> LTI settings. You find values from the data set Tool.

1.4 Enter Platform settings to Learning Interoperability in your Howspace Main user dashboard
After saving, you’ll see the Howspace tool as active. From the right corner, select View tool configuration details (see the picture above)
From the opening window, you see values to be added to your Learning Tools Interoperability settings (data set ) in your Howspace main user dashboard
Open your Howspace main user dashboard
Select Settings->Learning Tools Interoperability
Enter values to the following fields of the Platform data set from Moodle View tool configuration details window (see #2)
Note that “Context claim” can be left as is (default):
Platform ID
Client ID
Deployment ID
Public keyset URL
Access token URL
Authentication request URLSave
1.5 Change settings to support Deep link
If you have configured your Howspace and Moodle before support of deep linking, follow next steps:
Setup in Moodle
Open Tool settings and change the following setting
Public key set -> Copy new Keyset URL from your Howspace Main user dashboard LTI settings
Choose “"Supports deep linking"
Open the Privacy settings dropdown menu

5. Save changes.
2 Course administrator: Add Howspace tool to your Moodle course
After adding the Howspace workspace to the course, participants are able to do login and registration to the workspace without a separate login directly from the Moodle course using their Moodle login credentials.
2.1 Setup in Howspace workspace
Open your workspace
Open Workspace settings
Check that "Learning Tools Interoperability" is ticked in the "Features" menu
Select Login, registration and SSO
Enable “Users can login with Learning Tool Interoperability
Save
2.2 Setup in Moodle course
Open your Moodle course
Select Add an activity or resource
Add External tool
Give the activity a name
Select Howspace from the Predefined tool drop-down menu
Choose Select content and select the Howspace workspace you want to be added to your course
Save
