The AI-powered Assignment feedback feature brings instant, personalized feedback to essay-style assignments. Participants can submit their responses as a text comment, PDF upload, audio, or video recording. The admin sets clear evaluation criteria that define what a successful response should include and can also provide an evaluation prompt — guidelines that shape how the AI delivers feedback, such as structuring it into positive and constructive comments written directly to the participant.
Once a participant submits their response, AI automatically compares it against the criteria and instructions, and instantly provides feedback. Alongside individual feedback, the AI generates a summary of all participant responses for the admin — highlighting common themes, strengths, and areas for improvement. This summary is visible by default only to the admin but can be shared with participants if the admin chooses to enable it in the widget settings.
How to use the feature?
This feature can be turned on in the Assignment widget settings, under AI.
Once the feature has been enabled you can view the Successful response criteria, and AI feedback approach. For each we have set default prompts that you can refine and edit to your specific needs.
What do these mean?
Describe a successful response: Describe a successful submission and the assessment standards: include relevant context/reference materials, key facts/definitions, and what a high-quality submission should include (e.g., structure, depth, must-haves, constraints).
Define the AI's feedback approach: Specify the AI’s feedback tone, focus, and structure, such as highlighting strengths before improvements.
Feedback delivery
You can configure AI-powered feedback to be delivered automatically upon submission or made available on-demand for users who prefer to request it themselves.
When feedback delivery is set to manual a button appears beneath each submission, allowing reviewers to request feedback manually.
Prompting all submissions as an admin
Admins can prompt all assignment submissions from widget menu > Prompt. This provides admins with a AI Prompting of all responses, uncovering for example common themes, strengths, and areas for improvement. AI uses the submissions and the evaluation instructions to respond. The results are only visible to you, but you can copy them and share in a Chat or Text widget.

How does it look like for the participant?
Once a participant submits their response, AI automatically compares it against the criteria and instructions, and instantly provides feedback. The feedback appears below the participant answer.
