PDF Pinning

This article describes how the pinning feature works in PDF widget

Updated over a week ago

The pinning feature can be enabled from the PDF widget's settings. With the pinning feature, you can increase low-threshold engagement.

Managing the pinning feature

The pinning feature can be enabled from the widget's settings under the Annotation and pinning section. You can choose either Pins or Emojis for Pinning. Both options have settings for:

  • Visibility of the pins

    • Users can see only their own pins, others' pins after pinning themselves, or all pins all the time

  • Anonymity

    • Pins can be shown as dots without the profile image, or they can be set as permanently anonymous so no one can see which pin is whose

  • Amount of pins users can add

    • You can choose how many pins each user can add

  • Size of pins

    • You can choose what size the pins are on the image

Pins

When pins are enabled, a plus sign will appear in the PDF file's bottom-right corner. Clicking the plus sign will activate the pinning tool, and then the pin can be placed anywhere on the PDF file.

With pins, you can also add different pinning options for the participant, including names and color codes. When options are added, a menu for selecting the option will appear once the plus sign is clicked.

Emojis

An emoji sign will appear in the PDF file's bottom-right corner when emojis are enabled. Clicking the emoji sign will activate the pinning tool, and after that, the emoji can be chosen and placed anywhere on the PDF file.

Filtering pins

Pins can also be filtered from the widget menu. You can filter based on user lists, profile fields, and even users if anonymity is not selected.
