PDF Annotation

Highlight important parts of any PDF file uploaded to a PDF widget.

Updated over a week ago

The annotation feature allows you to highlight parts of images and post a comment along with the highlighted section to any chat widget on the page.

Enable Annotation

To use the feature, add a PDF widget and upload a file to it. Go to the widget edit view -> Annotation and pinning

Connect comments to pages

Comments in chats on the page will be automatically connected to the currently visible page of the PDF. This is a useful feature when you want to enable commenting on full pages in a presentation, for example.

Show annotation tool and connect comments to pages

The Annotation tool will be shown to add specific parts of the pages as an attachment to the comments. Comments in chats on the page will be automatically connected to the currently visible page of the PDF.

Filtering comments

When comments are added to the page, you can show all comments related to the page by clicking the filter-icon in the bottom right corner of the PDF file.

Using Annotation

  • Click on the annotation tool, which is visible in the bottom right corner of the PDF when "Show annotation tool and connect comments to pages" is enabled.

  • Then, select the area of the image you wish to highlight.

  • Once the area has been selected, click on the comment field of any super chat widget to include the highlight in your comment.

Tip:

When comments include an annotation, clicking on the comment will take you to the highlighted part or page of the PDF file.
