Glossary is premium feature, so it is not available for all customers. Please contact our support or sales, if you don't have it.
Translation glossary allows you to define how certain words or phrases should be translated in different languages.
When you should use glossary?
Brand-specific terms, such as company jargon or product and service names
Industry-specific terms
Audience-specific terms
Terms that should not be translated (for this, we have separate list to maintain)
How to use glossary?
We support one glossary per Howspace account. Glossary is uploaded as a .csv file (so you can use for example Excel or Google Sheets to build and maintain one) through Account Manager -> Settings -> Translations.
Glossary should be a simple CSV file, where language codes are listed on header row and then every word and its language versions on each row. It is required to have a version of the word for each language you have in the header row, meaning you cannot leave empty values for certain words.
Please use two-letter language codes from ISO 639 standard. Obviously only languages supported by our translator are suitable for the glossary.
How to use Exclusion list
Exclusion list is an easy way to provide a list of words, that you never want to get translated. This is very good for company and product names, certain surnames etc, that might get otherwise translated. Here you just upload a .txt
file listing all the words, one word per line.
