Overview
Integrating Stripe payments into your Howspace Hub allows you to manage enrollments and handle online payments directly within the platform.
Setting Up Stripe in Howspace Hub
Stripe payments can be enabled in the Hub Administration > Settings > Payments section.
To enable Stripe payments in your Howspace Hub, follow these steps:
Create a Stripe account at https://stripe.com/ if you don't already have one
Log in to your Stripe account.
Via "API Keys" you need to create a "restricted key", with the following write accesses:
"Checkout Sessions" write access and
"Webhook Endpoints" write access
Copy Stripe's restricted key token (secret key)
Add Stripe's Secret Key (token) to Howspace Hub:
Go to Settings in your Howspace Hub.
Open the Payments tab.
Enter your Stripe secret key (token), select currency and save your settings.
Once completed, the "Payment options" section and possibility to "Add enrollment price" will appear when creating new training sessions (or when editing existing ones).
How Payments Work for Participants
The payment process works as follows:
Participants interested in attending a training session enroll through your Hub.
They are directed to a "pending payment" page, where they can:
Pay immediately themselves.
Share the payment page link with someone else responsible for payment (such as their employer).
After the payment is successfully completed, participants gain immediate access to the training.
Allowing Guests to enter training (optionally without additional payment)
In training enrollment, you can allow guests (e.g., companions, children) to join a training. Guests occupy a seat in the training event but do not become new users..
Note: If the training is set to be self-study, the guest option is not available.
There is a separate setting that determines whether guests are required to make a payment.
Cancelling an enrollment is not possible if payments are in use
Notice that if payments are in use, participants cannot cancel their enrollment by themselves. Cancellation needs to be done by a training admin. Refunding the payment is a manual process through Stripe admin panel.
Managing VAT and Receipts
Stripe integration with Howspace Hub requires VAT handling. Stripe automatically calculates applicable VAT charges and provides participants with appropriate receipts.
