Overview
The two checklists below explain how to set up a new Hub. The first checklist covers the requirements for setting up the Hub, and the second focuses on adding content and personalising the Hub.
Checklist for setting up Hub and bringing users:
Choose a Hub URL – Decide on the web address where your Hub will reside (e.g., yourorganisation.hub.howspace.com). A Howspace technical expert will configure it for you.
Set visibility – Should everyone see the Hub’s content, or only logged‑in users? You can toggle this in Settings -> Require login. When login is required, visitors who are not signed in cannot view Hub contents.
Plan Roles and Groups – You may start simple with roles such as Member (view content) and Admin (manage content). Groups are often organised by region or department (e.g., Northern Finland, or Financial Department). Important: Roles and Groups can be added later, but getting them right from the start prevents rework.
Importing users and integrations – How will user information be brought into the system? Options include:
Self‑registration – Users register themselves.
CSV import – Export user data from another system and import it into the Hub.
API integration – Automate user import through the Hub API (development by the customer organisation is needed, generating CSV files from the customer system and then syncing user imports).
Choose a login method – Decide how users will log in. By default, the Hub emails each user a login link for easy access. You can later enable single sign‑on (SSO).
Checklist for adding content and personalising the Hub:
Define basic settings - Add Keywords (meta information) for trainings and set the languages available to users.
Create Templates - Each Training uses a template (e.g. Webinar, Onboarding, Strategy Meetings). Templates store repeatable structure and default settings.
Create Trainings - Build the actual training/learning/other sessions based on their templates. A training session can be also other than training: an organisation event, self-learning course session, and much more.
Create Howspace Workspaces to be used in Templates & Trainings.
Configure Qualifications - Combine multiple trainings into a qualification that learners can earn upon completion.
Do Visualization - Select colours, logos, banners, and other branding elements.
Customize the Front Page - Choose which content blocks (e.g., trainings) appear to users. Block visibility always follows existing permissions, so adding a block cannot expose content that users are not allowed to see.
Enable Payments - If your Hub sells trainings, connect a Stripe API key to accept payments.
Set up Communities - Optional; create discussion communities if needed.
These two checklists provide a high‑level roadmap for setting up your Hub and adding content.
