Overview
In Howspace Hub, a training is an event or session that participants can enroll in—ranging from workshops and webinars to company meetups or self-paced learning. Trainings are created using predefined templates, making it easy to manage events with consistent structure and content.
Online, Hybrid, or In-Person Setup
Trainings can be configured to include an online component. This can be a dedicated Howspace workspace, a link to an external platform, or no online workspace at all. This flexibility allows organizers to match the digital experience to the nature of the training—whether it's fully online, hybrid, or entirely in person.
Training Administration and Permissions
Users with administrative rights are responsible for managing trainings. A general administrator can manage all trainings across the Hub, while group-specific administrators can only manage trainings hosted by their assigned group.
For example, an "Admin" role can oversee all trainings, whereas an "Admin at Thunderhawks" can only manage trainings hosted by the Thunderhawks group.
Trainings Enrollment
Users will only see trainings they are eligible to register for based on their user role. Visibility is automatically filtered, so users won’t see trainings they don’t have access to. Similarly, only users with the required role can enroll in a given training.
Note: As of April 8, 2025, it is not yet possible for participants to cancel their enrollment after registering. This functionality is currently under development.
Creating a New Training
When creating a new training, you will select a base template and define details across these key sections
1. Basic Info
Subtitle: Training title that will be shown in addition to the title of the template.
Description: Explanation of the training’s purpose and content.
Cover Image: Optional image representing the training.
Tags: Keywords or labels to help organize trainings.
Location: Specific address for trainings (optional).
2. Settings
Hours: Duration of the training.
Self-study: Indicate if the training is self-paced without fixed dates.
Training Dates: Scheduled dates or sessions for the training.
Registration Opens: The date when users can begin registering.
Number of Participants: Maximum number of participants allowed.
Hosted by group: Select the group(s) responsible for managing the training.
Visibility: Limit visibility to specific user roles (optional).
Registration Available: Restrict registration to specific user roles (optional).
Howspace Workspace Admins: Users automatically assigned admin rights when the training is created.
Online Workspace: Define the online workspace option for the training:
Create Howspace workspace: Generate a new workspace.
Use existing Howspace workspace: Link to an existing workspace.
Training is on another website: Link participants to an external resource.
Training doesn't have an online workspace: No digital workspace involved.
3. Communication
SMS or Email Messages: Set up automated messages sent to participants.
4. Enrollment Questions
Include customized questions for participants, such as dietary preferences, attendance or other information.
5. Additional Info
Custom fields specifically configured for your organization's needs via Settings > Custom Fields. These fields can include any additional information or internal data required for training management.
