Howspace

The Exam migration tool allows you to transfer your old Exam question widgets to the new Exam format. When you use the migration tool, Howspace automatically creates a new Exam widget that includes all the content from the old one. Participant inputs, questions, and answer options are all moved to the new version, ensuring a seamless transition without data loss.

New exam will automatically use the “Show questions one by one” setting if the old exam was split into Path mode

- In this case, the new Exam widget will be on the first step of the path. If there's no other content on the path, consider deleting the rest

- Transfers all questions, answer options, and answer feedback to the new Exam widget
- Moves all participant answers and results to the new exam
- Adds the new Exam widget in place of the old one
- Moves the old Exam question widgets to the page trash can

If the old exam used custom points, all questions in the new version are automatically set to 1 point each.

If the old exam awarded a certificate, this is no longer supported through the Exam widget. Certificates can now only be granted through <a href="https://help.howspace.com/en/articles/272075-progress">Progress</a> tracking or <a href="https://help.howspace.com/en/articles/272110-certificate">manually</a>.

All past participant answers remain visible in the new version after migration.

- If the old exam used custom points, all questions in the new version are automatically set to 1 point each.

Open the page containing your old Exam question widgets.

From the top of the page, click Migrate to new Exam.

Read through the modal and confirm the action 

Wait for the migration to complete. The old Exam will move to the page trash can, and the new Exam will appear in its place.

Review the new Exam widget to ensure that all content and responses have been successfully moved.

1. Open the page containing your old Exam question widgets.
2. From the top of the page, click Migrate to new Exam.
3. Read through the modal and confirm the action 
4. Wait for the migration to complete. The old Exam will move to the page trash can, and the new Exam will appear in its place.
5. Review the new Exam widget to ensure that all content and responses have been successfully moved.

- Edit the new Exam widget as usual
- Adjust exam settings if needed
- Review or export participant responses
